“Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Amplified Bible)
Where does God live? What’s His address?
Where can I find Him, gain an access?
If I knock on His door, will He let me come in?
His home is in you, child, If you’ve welcomed Him in.
I probably shouldn’t quit my day job and try to make a living as a poet, but I hope you get the point. God does not live in a brick and mortar building with a steeple or a metal barn with a rustic cross on the wall (can’t leave out the cowboy churches).
When the people go home after the service on Sunday, God doesn’t hang out at the church house waiting for visitors. The only way you find Him there is if you bring Him with you. If you have trusted Jesus as Savior, God lives in you and, according to these verses, owns you. He didn’t have to take out a loan to purchase you; He paid the full price with the blood of His Son. Enjoy His house today and make Him proud!
