Kids love to play Hide & Seek.

I spent a few moments this morning reminiscing from my childhood H&S experiences, as well as those with my kids and grands.

Each generation has given me a greater glimpse into the joy on a little one’s face when they proclaim, “I found you!”

As a grandpa, I know that it is important for them to find me. They learn that I’m present and available even when they can’t see me. It brings a sense of security to them to know that, no matter how well I hide, I won’t abandon them while they are seeking.

They can trust me.

It would be betrayal if I were to get in my truck and drive away while they are looking for me.

I thought about that when I read Psalm 9:10 this morning.

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

God is not a cruel jokester who leaves us hanging in a malicious game of Hide & Seek. He doesn’t refuse to be found when we truly seek him.

“‘Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD … “ (Jeremiah 28:12-14).

Keep seeking and be amazing today, my friend.
